I’m originally from Rhode Island, where I was raised by a hard-working single mom who showed me the value of resilience and independence early on. Growing up in a small New England town, I came to appreciate summers by the coast, the pride that comes from hard work, and the importance of being prepared for whatever life throws your way.
While earning my degree at the University of Rhode Island, I worked as a server and bartender at a small Irish pub, an experience that taught me as much about people as it did about persistence and hustle. After college, I started my career at a large broker-dealer, earning my Series 7 and 66 licenses. I quickly found myself working with high-net-worth clients and later transitioned to the trade desk, assisting active traders with complex strategies and executions. But I realized early on that I wanted something more personal, to build real relationships, not just process transactions.
That desire led me to a top-tier wealth management team, where I earned my CFP® designation and focused on comprehensive financial planning. Around that time, my wife Mel and I made a big move, we sold our side business and relocated to Johns Island, South Carolina, ready for a fresh start and new opportunities. I joined a small, fee-only planning firm and worked closely with a wide range of clients, helping them navigate real-life financial decisions with confidence. After four great years, I felt ready to build something of my own. That’s how my independent advisory practice came to life, grounded in transparency, objectivity, and personalized advice that’s tailored to your life, not just your investments.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Mel, and our two dogs, Aces and Jaxx. We love beach days on Kiawah Island, playing golf and tennis, trying new restaurants around Charleston, and traveling both locally and abroad.
I’ve always felt that the traditional model in wealth management, where advisors are incentivized to target high-net-worth clients and sell them products that generate the most revenue, was flawed. Often, these products aren't the best fit for clients’ financial plans or goals. I believe individuals and families need a financial professional who will guide them in identifying and prioritizing their financial and life goals, helping them save more, invest smarter, and feel more confident about their money and future.
